Learning Technologies Barcamp 2026

What a great night, even if we do say so ourselves!

We ran our 11th Learning Technologies Exhibition & Conference barcamp event at the end of day one of the conference and it was a blast.

Five great speakers joined 50 L&D peers for conversation – and challenge – on the event’s theme: the shift from content to capability.

The format is simple – each speaker has between 10 and 15 minutes to host a conversation based on their areas of expertise. Once the time is up, speakers move to the next table to talk about their topic to the next group. The event ends when all groups have had a conversation with each of the speakers.

This is some of the feedback . . .

“Totally delighted to make it to my first one of these….it took me long enough to discover them and now I am hooked, I hope it won’t be my last.”

“Really good evening, thanks Martin. I usually head home at the end of a day at LT but I decided to come along to your barcamp and loved it. Great bunch of people with similar challenges and differing ideas and nuance around solutions. Kudos for organising.”

“It was, as always a great event and a different vibe to the rest of the LT activities.”

“Really great event, Martin Couzins, thanks again for organising. It’s only a shame there aren’t more of them! Day long event next time?”

You can see all the feedback here.

I’d like to give huge thanks to our speakers Idris Fabiyi, Helen Marshall, Matt Smith, Zac Brown and Julie Drybrough. And to everyone who came and joined the conversations.

Finally, a big thanks to Skillable for supporting the event and providing the refreshments.

Until next year . . .
